The issues that refugees encounter must be addressed by the international community as a whole in order to ensure their safety, well-being, and smooth transition into new communities. The goal of this plan is to provide a comprehensive support program that promotes refugees’ rights and helps them become self-sufficient in their new countries while attending to their short- and long-term needs.
Background
As per the most recent data released by the UNHCR, there are over 82 million people who have been forcibly relocated globally. This alarming statistic highlights the critical need to solve the predicament of refugees on a global level.
The resources and capacities of humanitarian organizations as well as host countries are severely strained as a result of this unprecedented displacement, making it more difficult to offer people in need with the help and protection they require.
Even though the current refugee support systems do a great job of meeting basic requirements like food, housing, and medical care, they sometimes fall short of offering long-term integration and self-sufficiency.
Due to this insufficiency, many displaced people are now at risk of exploitation, marginalization, and ongoing instability as a result of a long-lasting cycle of dependency.
